Authors Guideline

Plagiarism Policy: 

The Insight Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences (IJHSS) follows a strict policy against plagiarism. 

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism is defined as:

  • Copying another author’s work, ideas, or words without proper citation.
  • Paraphrasing substantial parts of another work without acknowledgment.
  • Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals (duplicate submission).
  • Using one’s own previously published work without citation (self-plagiarism).

Policy & Procedure

  1. Initial Screening
    • All submitted manuscripts are checked for plagiarism using standard plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin, iThenticate, or equivalent tools).
    • A similarity index of more than 15–20% (excluding references, quotations, and small overlaps) is not acceptable.
  2. Author Responsibility
    • Authors must properly acknowledge and cite all sources.
    • Authors must ensure that the manuscript is original and has not been published elsewhere.
  3. Editorial Action in Case of Plagiarism
    • If plagiarism is detected before publication, the manuscript will be rejected immediately.
    • If plagiarism is detected after publication, the article will be retracted, and a notice will be published on the journal’s website.
    • Authors found guilty of plagiarism may be blacklisted from future submissions.

Acceptable Similarity

  • Acceptable similarity index: ≤15% (excluding bibliography and commonly used phrases).
  • Similarity above 15–20% will be carefully evaluated by the editorial board.
  1. Submission of Manuscripts
  • Manuscripts should be submitted online via the journal’s submission system (or email).
  • Submissions must be original and not under consideration by any other journal.
  1. Manuscript Structure
  • Title Page: Title, author(s) full name, affiliation, email ID, ORCID (if available).
  • Abstract: 150–250 words summarizing objectives, methods, results, and conclusion.
  • Keywords: 4–6 relevant keywords.
  • Main Text: Introduction, Literature Review, Methodology, Results/Discussion, Conclusion.
  • References: Follow APA 7th edition style follow.
  1. Formatting
  • File format: MS Word (.docx).
  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12.
  • Line spacing: 1.5, justified alignment.
  • Headings: Use a consistent hierarchy (e.g., Heading 1, Heading 2).
  • Length: Normally 2,000–4,000 words (including, tables, figures and references).
  1. Tables, Figures, and Illustrations
  • Tables and figures should be numbered sequentially and titled clearly.
  • Images must be high quality (300 dpi).
  • Sources must be acknowledged if not original.
  1. Plagiarism Policy
  • Manuscripts will be screened using plagiarism detection software.
  • Submissions with >10 – 15 % similarity (excluding references) may be rejected.
  1. Citations and References
  • In-text citations must match the reference list.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy in reference style.
  1. Peer Review
  • All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review.
  • Authors may be asked to revise and resubmit.
  • Final acceptance depends on the recommendation of reviewers and editorial approval.
  1. Publication Fees
  • No fees charge article submission or submitted..
  1. Copyright & License
  • Authors retain copyright but grant the journal the right to publish under an Open Access license (CC BY).
  • Authors must ensure permissions for any copyrighted material included.
